Taking care of the family business is best done over red wine and a game of pool. But you always need to stay sharp, there could be a wiseguy around any corner about to pull a hit to settle an old score. This is a commission piece done for my good friend Andre. His grandfather immigrated from Italy (shown in the center doing the toast) used to own a bar called The Howdy. Andre wanted to show his grandfather and his associates in a gangster-like setting. “Salute” (pronounced sa-LOO-tay) and “Cin Cin” (pronouned “cheen cheen”) are both Italian for “cheers”. The words Cin Cin are supposed to imitate the sounds of glasses clinking together.

I forget if you told me, do you have a website also? I’d love to see more of your photography. I thought your infrared work was beautiful.
