This piece was done as part of the Balboa Sketch Crawl event which took place March 29th, 2008. This was painted live on the Balboa pier. Anyone familiar with this quaint part of town knows that if you walk partway down the beautiful Balboa pier and look to your left, you will see a scene similar to this one: the beach stretching away into the distance, the hills of the coastline emptying into the sea, and the ocean itself reflecting the soft sunlight.
