"The function of art is to hold the mirror up to nature, and there simply isn't a mirror big enough..."

The renowned and award-winning art of Christopher Clark is taking the Southern California art world by storm. Christopher is the creator of the Sculpturalism, the breathtaking new technique of painting in a three-dimensional format and with heavy-reliefed textures, whereas the size and shape of the piece become as much of the art as the painting itself. Christopher's works bring a new vision to contemporary art.

Christopher Clark is a renowned and award-winning artist who has a wonderful habit of leaving people in astonishment of his work. Christopher's art remains individual and uncommon through colorful themes, unique form factors, and interesting textures from a strange variety of mediums and surfaces: Acrylics, graphite, chalk, pastel pencil, canvas, paper, joint compound, beach sand, poleurathane, glue, and water. Within the title and subject of each piece is woven a charming and intriguing story, as if it were its own page in a wonderful storybook. But moreover, the single attribute which leaps from every painting and grabs the viewer is Christopher's passion and emotion, which he intertwines deftly. To look at tangible emotion is to look at the art of Christopher Clark.

Often working in a plein-air style, Christopher enjoys working outside on location, and using a minimal palette of pigments: red, blue, yellow, black, and white. From this minimalist primary palette, Christopher's masterful control over color allows him to create wonderfully layered forms of color and depth. He also often paints in full view of the public eye, conversing with and drawing inspiration from other Southern California natives as well as travelers from every corner of the globe (or maybe just because he likes the attention).

Christopher has been enveloped in artwork since he was a young boy. Born in 1978 and raised in Fountain Valley / Huntington Beach, California, fine arts have always been intertwined in his life. His college art career, private study with numerous renowned artists, and travels through Europe have finely tuned Christopher's artistic skills. A lifetime of musical studies and over a decade of commercial graphic arts add to the broad horizon which he draws from.
