This is another that was based on a sketch
while flying to (or from) Portland, Oregon. I had a pretty
long time to wait in the airports and on the plane, so you
might be seeing a few more of those! Anyway, I haven't decided
if this picture tells a story of loneliness or contentment.
I'd like to think it's the latter, but maybe that's just me
trying to be optimisic. Is it a young man stopping on his
walk home after a perfect Sunday afternoon in town, or is
it an older man, visiting the place where he proposed to his
long since passed love? I honestly don't know, it hasn't really
told me yet.
I did most of this picture in one day, then stared at it for
about 2 weeks, adding little touches here and there. The paper
it's on is a beautiful, rich orange, and I actually just left
the paper on its own for the sky. I figured there was no media
I had that was going to possibly improve that color, so I
left it as is. |
