"The day his father died he took the pole, the box, and bait down to the same bridge they had sat at since he was a kid. He soaked in the familiar image of that fishing spot. He learned how to bait a hook, how to cast a line, how to reel it in there. But it took him so many years to realize he had learned so much more then just the basics. He learned the importance of family and how to hold a conversation. The day his father died he sat peacefully on that faded bridge. With the sun on his eyes, he baited the hook, cast the line and waited to reel it all in." - Passage by Amy Fazio
Painting inspired by the town of Vernazza in Cinque Terre, Italy. If only life were truly this peaceful! |
