"Nervously adjusting his tie for what felt like the 50th time, he gazed around at the half visible figures of the crowd. He'd never been on a blind date before and wasn't sure what he was looking for. He suspected that when she came along he would recognize her like all those oft-sung romances, but having never truly been in love, he could only guess. Looking once more around the park as if through fogged glass, he tried to swallow the lump in his throat and failed."
