Title: Early Autumn, Montclair – Study of George Inness
This is an original oil landscape painting by artist Christopher Clark. This is another master study I did during my oil painting workshop, in which we take a painting by an old master painter and paint our own version. This is a study of “Early Autumn, Montclair”, painted in 1891 by American landscape painter George Inness. His paintings were quite enormous, leaving lots of room for detail, which he did utilizing the texture and stickiness of oil paint. This is my favorite painting by him, and I was quite excited to paint my own version of it. I learned a lot by doing this painting, and so did my students.
This painting was done with oil paint on stretched canvas. The sides are painted black, the painting is ready to hang as-is. Contact me to purchase this original painting.
I am available for custom commission paintings of all kinds.
